Snippet the Short
A flash of light brought my room into view for a few seconds, as rain and gusting winds rattled the panes of a window nearby. A deep rumble followed, shaking the very foundations of the house. The room seemed darker than normal, so I sat up slowly to cast a quick light spell. I held my hands as if holding an invisible sphere and willed a small floating orb into existence. It glowed dimly at first, then became as bright as a candlelight. Looking about my room, I made out the familiar shapes of my dresser, by the far wall to my left, and chest, at the end of my small bed. Though I noticed something that hadn't been there before, a fine mist and what seemed like webs, scattered about my room. One was close enough that I could touch, but a hand pulled mine back.
